How to Build an AI Agent?

When Facebook offered Page Monetization to many people, I thought: why not build an agent to automate my page and make the whole process easier?

So, the question is: How do you build an AI agent?

There are two main ways to do it.

Method 1: Hire an AI Agent Developer

You can pay an AI agent developer to build an agent for you. If something goes wrong, they can fix it for you. You won't need to learn anything technical or deal with the development process yourself.

Method 2: Learn AI Agent Development Yourself

If you want to build agents yourself, there are two main tracks:

Track 1: Low-Code/No-Code Development

This approach allows you to build AI agents without writing code. Make AI and n8n are excellent options for this. OpenAI's AgentKit could also become a major player in the future, although it is still relatively new.

Track 2: Full-Code Development

In this approach, you build everything through programming.

At the very least, you should know how to use AI coding tools effectively. And by AI, I don't mean ChatGPT, the chatbot you use on your phone. I'm talking about terminal-based coding tools such as Claude Code, OpenCode, and Codex. You should know how to use at least one of them proficiently.

Once you know how to use these tools, you can simply tell the AI to build an agent for you, and it can help you develop one.

However, you should have at least a basic understanding of which framework and tech stack you want to use. Otherwise, the AI might make its own assumptions and take an approach that doesn't meet your requirements.
